Turn Service ON
One of the following identification documents will be required for all utility transactions: unexpired Driver's license with photograph, unexpired Passport, unexpired U.S. Military ID, Temporary Work Authorization ID, U.S. Residency ID, Native American Tribal document. If you did not provide one of these documents upon opening your account, please contact customer service by phone or in one of our business offices.
To request new residential City utility services please call 480-644-2221 or visit our offices.
Customers requesting new residential utility services will need to provide:
- Name
- Social security number (or other government issued identification number)
- Spouse or roommate's names
- Service address
- Home and work phone numbers
- Place of employment
- Mailing address
- Email address
- DOB
- A copy of your ownership papers or lease may be required for documentation purposes
Residential customers are required to place a deposit as security for payment of utility bills before utility services will be turned on. Deposits may be waived if the applicant has had comparable service with Mesa in the past 24 months, was not delinquent in payment more than twice during the past twelve (12) consecutive months or been disconnected for nonpayment during the past twelve (12) months. For dwelling units with individual service meters, the deposits applicable to each utility service are as follows:
- Electric $ 265
- Gas $ 125
- Water $ 100
- Waste Water $ 50
- Solid Waste $ 60
A utility administrative fee of $11.00 will be assessed to establish a utility account. In addition, the following service connection charges will be assessed for each metered service activated: Electric $20.00, Gas $40.00 and Water $20.00. Normally, utility service is connected the next business day following the request for service. If it is necessary to establish service the same day, a convenience fee of $55.00 will be assessed in addition to the normal administrative and connection charges. City and State Privilege tax will be assessed on all charges as applicable.
Residential customers requesting to turn on gas service need to be sure the electricity is active the day they would like gas services connected, that an adult over the age of 18 can be present at the time of service connection and that all gas appliances are connected prior to service connection. The City of Mesa field representative must have access to enter the home to perform a gas pressure test prior to connecting service. A two- hour appointment window may be requested.
